Safebooru did not move. That's a completely different site, running Gelbooru.

I think if you go on privilege account you can block those ads...

But you still have to pay though.

This has been discussed a couple of times. A worksafe board of Danbooru quality, for linking and sharing images, is desired by some of us, but the staff and the servers have enough trouble as is.

Perhaps at some point in the future...

Ok guys, just mentioning this FYI since there seems to be some confusion: this site, Danbooru, was the first and original booru and was created by albert.

For various reasons (the most important of which is that it's damn great) the concept has been copied a lot, most famously in Gelbooru, which is bigger than Danbooru (since apart from its own user community, it automatically grabs every image that's posted here) but it's not nearly as organized and has more "relaxed" standards.

Safebooru was a rating:safe only version of Danbooru made by albert and hosted in the same servers as Danbooru but it has been offline due to technical issues for some time now. Safebooru.org is similar in concept, but it's a different site that's hosted on a different server. It does grab images from Danbooru like Gelbooru, though.

Finally, the Booru Project is a site that lets you create your own booru using Gelbooru's code, and Overbooru is "merely an index" of various booru sites, as their disclaimer mentions. Apart from using the booru concept, neither are related to Danbooru.

I hope that cleared up any confusion.

To summarize it all..

• Gelbooru and Safebooru are clones of Danbooru which is the original booru.
• The reason Gelbooru has a million plus image because it automatically grabs whatever image that been uploaded in the danbooru server asides from their own uploads.
• The other Boorus are actually came from Gelbooru due to the Booru Project, and technically not directly connected to Danbooru.
• Overbooru is just an index of some well known Boorus.
