Auto up-vote

My apologies if this has been addressed, I did try searching the forum before posting.
Why when I favorite a post does it auto up-vote the post? I've favorited pics that had a 0 vote level and been favorited by several people, only to have the vote level change.
Any help appreciated.

If you're a privileged or higher user, favoriting a post increases the score. Likewise, flagging a post auto-down votes it. Regular members who cannot up or down-vote a post have no effect when they favorite posts.

Nope, ticket's never been assigned which is just short of a won't fix.
