Artist tagging help

but there's already another artist with that name an on here

Actually, that was two different artists under one tag. And anyway, not any more. What a terrible idea, naming an artist something as simple as "an". If all else fails, just use the URL identifier.

Why is Japanese the OOOONNNNLLLLYYYYY language on the entire damn planet where name order is routinely flipped in translation?

It is not. Hungarian is another example. And I am almost certain there are more, although they are not necessarily nation-state-level official languages anywhere.

I find these questions particularly interesting, since my own nation has been more or less forced into using a western name system in the past. We do not make a huge point of it, but people just tend to "flip names back" to the eastern order in informal conversation. It feels natural to us like that, I guess. Really, I wonder how the foreign subbers of Aki Kaurismäki's (i.e. Kaurismäen Aki's) films handle the phenomenon.

And when it comes to shoes, here in Northern Europe they are usually taken off when entering someone's home. Not requiring that is completely possible but feels broad-minded, or Bohemian, or old-fashioned, depending on the context.

Gives his name as "文月一希", not sure how to romanize that.

My new approach for proper names with multiple likely readings in ENAMDICT is to search Japanese Wikipedia and take the most common reading; that approach gives fumizuki_kazuki here.

Likewise nishina_masato.

This one is Chinese and seems to mean "puppeteer". I'm going to say ren_ou_shi based on what I'm getting from Google (this manga cover in particular), but that's open to modification by anyone who actually knows some Chinese.
