Site update

Changes
  • Privacy:
    • The "privacy mode" account setting has been renamed to "private favorites".
    • The private favorites setting now only hides your favorites. Previously privacy mode hid your favorites, hid your favorite groups, and removed the uploads section from your profile page (which didn't actually hide your uploads).
    • Favorite groups are now marked public or private on an individual basis. Favgroups are public by default. To make a favgroup private, go to its edit page and uncheck the "is public" box.
    • The /favorite_groups page now lists all public favgroups for all users. Note that public favgroups were already visible to other users before on profile pages.
    • The favorite groups counter on your profile page now only counts public favgroups. Previously other users could see how many favgroups you had, even if they were private.
    • If you had privacy mode on before, your existing favgroups will still be private. If you didn't have privacy mode on, your favgroups will still be public. Nothing will be public now that wasn't already public before.
  • Uploads: the commentary section now has a new section for translating the commentary.
  • Forum: removed the ability for mods to merge forum threads. This was never used much and was buggy.
  • Forum: removed the ability to subscribe to forum threads. This was used to receive email notifications when a thread got bumped. Very few people ever used this.
  • Dmails: removed the ability to create dmail word filters. This was used to block dmails containing certain words. This was very little used and was often used incorrectly. Users would block certain phrases in an attempt to block dmail spam, but accidentally block very common words that would cause nearly all dmails sent to them to be blocked as spam.
Fixes
  • Fixed users being able to undelete their own comments that were deleted by a mod. Comments that have been deleted by a mod are now locked against any further editing by the original user.
  • Fixed favorite groups being able to contain invalid or duplicate post IDs.
  • Fixed exception when trying to fetch preview images for Twitter video posts.
  • Fixed "»" links not appearing on the /note_versions page.
  • Fixed the submit button in the post replacement dialog not working.
  • Fixed the wiki page diff page showing differences in the wrong order.
  • Fixed an exception when viewing a forum topic with no posts. This happened when a forum topic was merged into another thread.
API Changes
  • Added new parameters for searching text fields. Examples:
    • /tags?search[name_array][]=cat&search[name_array][]=dog (tags named cat or dog)
    • /tags?search[name_comma]=cat,dog (tags named cat or dog)
    • /tags?search[name_space]=cat+dog (tags named cat or dog)
    • The above params work for all text fields across the site. Note that commas and spaces are valid characters in some text fields.
  • Added new parameters for searching array fields. Examples:
    • /wiki_pages?search[other_names_include_any_array][]=東方&search[other_names_include_any_array][]=艦これ (other_names include either 東方 or 艦これ)
    • /wiki_pages?search[other_names_include_all_array][]=東方&search[other_names_include_all_array][]=东方 (other_names include both 東方 and 东方)
    • The above params work for all array fields across the site.
  • The /tags?search[name] param now does an exact literal match. Use name_normalize to get the same behavior as before.
  • The /wiki_pages?search[title] param now does an exact literal match. Use title_normalize to get the same behavior as before.
  • The /tag_aliases?search[antecedent_name] and search[consequent_name] params now do an exact literal match. Use antecedent_name_space to get the same behavior as before.

Site update

Changes
  • Added a new upload limit system:
    • The new system is described in forum #161931.
    • The old system is still in effect for now. The new system will go into effect next week. For now, you can check your profile to see what your limit will be under the new system.
  • Added a new reporting system:
    • Comments, forum posts, and dmails now have a Report button.
    • Reporting something will send a message to the moderators.
    • Reports are meant for reporting spam, abuse, and other rule-breaking behavior. Don't report comments when a downvote would suffice.
    • Mods can see reports on the /moderation_reports page or in a special mod-only forum thread.
  • Added more search options to /favorite_groups page.
  • Added embedded:true and embedded:false metatags for finding posts with embedded notes.
  • Adjusted the titles and descriptions of certain pages. This affects the titles that show up in browser tabs, and the descriptions that show up when posting a link to Danbooru on sites like Twitter or Discord.
Fixes
  • Fixed wiki page quicksearch bar not being case-insensitive and space-insensitive.
  • Fixed autocomplete returning favgroups for other users in favgroup:<name> searches.
API Changes
  • The redirect=true param is now supported on all index pages. Setting this param will make the search redirect you to the show page if the search returns a single result.

This treats negative searches in the same way as positive ones, so searching ponytail -long_hair puts "Ponytail and Long Hair Art" in the tab name/description, which is more than a little misleading.

Maybe use a source independent from the nickname for a posts from Artstation? Do it automatically like a posts from Twitter where "/i/web" is used in the source.
For example post #3765308: reaperpwny.artstation.com/projects/QzZ8al -> artstation.com/artwork/QzZ8al

Site seems very sluggish to respond right now, and images pages (individual or galleries) have to be refreshed sometimes to get the images to load. Had to load the forum page twice, but it cooperated quickly the second time.

I don't think it's my internet connection, as other web browsing doesn't seem affected. Hopefully, whatever's bogging things down will pass.

Edit: This message posted, but it still took the site 20 seconds or so to do so, which is pretty slow for a forum message.

There was an issue with the cache server that has been resolved. Other than that performance appears normal.

Not for me. I get a header that says bad argument (expected URI object or URI string) on the upload page, and then when I click submit it says..

An error occurred: error: NoMethodError - undefined method `hostname' for nil:NilClass

It seemed to resolve for a while 9-10 hours ago, but it's acting up again now. I can't get the "Mark as Translated" function to respond at all right now. Reloading the page didn't load the image at all the first time. (It's just as well, as at the time, the site also refused to let my final note save.)

After giving the site some time to register that last note and maybe recover, the "Mark as Translated" function worked right away, but then the "Submit" button for translating the commentary got no reaction until I tried it twice, and even then, the page was slow to reload.

Posting a comment at least worked the first time, but again, slowly. I'm anticipating trouble when I try to submit this post.

Edit: Yep, it wouldn't post the first time, and now clicking on "Reply" under a previous post doesn't get a reaction. I only got it to react by clicking the "Reply" button at the bottom of the page. Trying to post again...

This looks like a networking issue between you and Danbooru. According to the logs, those actions took less than a second on Danbooru's end. The delay appears to be on the network level.

You can try going to https://shima.donmai.us directly. This will bypass Cloudflare and connect to one of Danbooru's servers directly, which may or may not give you a better result.
