Every Touhou is paired with every other Touhou at some point. Having similarities speeds up the process.

Also two touhou's would naturally be enemies wind up together.Like Mouku and Cirno/Kaguya.

So at current count, that's 121P2, or 7260 possible pairings.

Given the amount of images on Danbooru for the tags of "touhou -solo", and taking from a reasonable sample of those the percentage of images that directly pair characters...

Such plans are foiled by the fact that not all art is on Danbooru...but I've never seen something like that stop a math geek, either. :P

Hm, well, ignoring for now that Danbooru doesn't represent all images that exist, it can at least be said that the images that are present are a fairly large representative sample of all Touhou fanart.

You could make something that goes through all the posts tagged with in "Touhou" and "Yuri" and find pairings that frequently appear, pairings that have yet to be made, etc. Then one could bug artists to fill the voids or find images that do so, to make Touhou truely have every possible pairing.

In the touhou world, saying that you "Hate" someone will give you even more pairing doujins.

Come to think of it Only Mami is said to not go well with foxes, nothing is said Ran would not be interested in her no?
