    Easy. If she simply gapped herself everywhere right away think of how boring it would all get. It's like the old saying goes, the trip is more important than the destination.

    But she is using a gap though isn't she? Right there. Her lower half of her body is missing after all.

    I would assume appearing in front of the gate to someone's house is a bit more socially acceptable than suddenly showing up inside their house.
