I think both methods are nice - it all depends on how the pieces of the costume generate/animate, haha.

I've never liked B. At all, in any way, in any form.

A always bored me and B always embarrassed me. Hence why the only magical girl anime I've seen more than three episodes of is Sailor Moon from when I was young on Toonami.

Same. I'm sick of pattern B. Let's get back to Pattern A. There's so much pervy stuff in anime nowadays it's starting to bore me.

I'm in two minds regarding this. Being the pervert loli fan that I am I would go for pattern B, like with the Nanoha series and Moetan. But I also enjoyed Nanoha's new approach to the magical girl genre with all the battles and action. I would like to show Nanoha to some friends who would like the action side of the series but then I worry how they would react to the loli fanservice.

Is there no way we can have both?
