Thanks that you wrote. That would not be objective. You will laugh: I also don't like the couple - but the image was good for me.
However, I'm really relieved that it was accepted. There is much bad Naruto art but I saw really nice images here, too, that were deleted... But what is the real reason that fanart of this manga/anime has such a hard time? Maybe there are not enough uploader, I don't know.
Even if it's good art, subject matter still matters alot as far as positive/negative score is concerned. Look at how much shit Yuuno + Fate/Nanoha gets. I myself will always be a HinataxNaruto shipper but seeing a picture like this doesnt "Induce Rage" in me. I just go on with my business. Sadly I can't say the same for other shippers.(Actually doesn't like NanohaxFate)

Yeah, there are not many really objective approver. If you don't like an couple, character or art style, the score does not matter.
Not just unpopular shippings are dangerous but also ecchi fanart because everybody like other (female) persons. I discuss often but the most contributors write very strange things why they ignored it.
Appealing and discussion in the forum are not successful, at least in my case. Example: One image had a score of 13 but there was english text in the speech bubbles that the artist himself had inserted. And uncensored with photoshop. Deleted. No answer. Voted down. (Impressive because there is simply no original to compare.)
Well, I'm glad that I could write this. I felt frustrated but writing down helps. :-) And seeing that you are not alone.

Instead of debating about Naruto on Danbooru, etc etc, how about we all sit back, stop fighting with each other and enjoy an image where Hinata is dominating someone because god damn, it's rare.

There aren't any actually, because there's no such thing.
That's why I personally find the score important - for a bit objective look. What many people like, can't be so bad, even if there are a few points in the image that are not perfect.

You'll go nuts caring about the score. I've seen images with over 100 favorites... and a score of something like 20.
Me, I find it damn hot and I say that as someone with no real love for any of Naruto.
