Did they? <checks Notes history> So they did. I ducked away to double-check which strips featured the beer garden so I could add a TN here, and was reminded that it was referred to as the "Mt. Takao" beer garden. When I came back, it just looked like someone had already fixed that for me and colored my two notes that needed color.

Yeah, once I noticed you translating the same time as me, I just figured I'd let you go at it (since you're by far the fastest translator around these parts), and just touched up a few notes.
Eight people went to that beer garden. Two of them ended up being left out of the strips. I never thought they were looking forward that much to appearing. I got teased about it at the convention. :-)

Mizuki's previous portrayal of those would actually reflect fans' reactions more than those of random strangers like in that restaurant strip. However, he also had American Toehoes so who knows what he'll draw for his Boston trip?

I've decided to try and set myself the goal of trying to get to one of the big doujinshi events in Japan in 2013 (or 2014 at the worst), in the hopes of meeting some of the artists I enjoy seeing so much.
I have no illusions about the likelihood of actually appearing in anyone's comics, but just actually meeting artists like Mizuki would be worth it. :3

Even one of our own Danboorites made an appearance!
