Patchy patchy doesn't get any exercise, so she's soft~

There are two most common portrayals of Patchy; either small and noticeably thin from lack of exercise, or pleasantly plump for... the same reason. Her clothes tend to hide her figure so most of the time it could be one or the other.

The noticeably thin portrayal could also be tied to the idea that she's spending so much time in the library that forgets to eat.

Indeed. Patchy is one of the more unique characters in Touhou in that she doesn't really have a well-established, clear-cut set of proportions (at least, for fan artists).

Patchy and Mokou seem to vary the most, in my eyes, in the proportion department. However, Koakuma seems to vary the most in her total appearance.

If alphes' art is to be taken as canon accurate, she's in the painfully-thin category. However, I like the look of her slightly-plump form better.

Alphes' art may be considered canon by some, I just think most fans tend to disregard any canon material that goes against either what they want to create or what they want to believe.

I also prefer Patchy with a little meat.

Patchouli's body is still very much that of ~12(?) years old child, so I highly doubt that she's plump... in those regions. She's about as tall as Marisa and Youmu, taller than Remilia - who looks like 10 - and shorter than Reimu.

As for Mokou, we have only her IN portrait and Tokiame's illustrations of Mokou before and after she became immortal. Obviously, she didn't age since then.

Is it just me or does her breasts grow and shrink between each version? I swear they grow between 4 and 5 but then shrink between 5 and 6.

Which could mean that Patchy is just plain short, rather than having a ~12 year old girl's body. It's entirely possible for an adult woman to be shorter than a teenage girl.
