Fandom nowadays pretty much overrides canon, but according to pixiv #4593447, the doll in this image is supposed to be a Shanghai doll, such as the one used in IN.
I wish the fandom would have some more respect for the canon designs instead of making stuff up. Just because the doll wears a red dress doesn't mean it's Hourai. (post #340840)
When did Shanghai and Hourai got their set of "fanon design" anyway?
Also, though Alice seems to be using Shanghai an Hourai the most, what I'd like to see is someone actually making a design for the French, Orléans, Dutch, Russian, London and Tibetan Dolls. Well I don't know if they all used the same sprite ingame (haven't touched PCB for a long time, sorry) but it's nice for a change.
In SWR, Tasofro seems to have gotten lazy and all dolls - normal, Shanghai, Hourai, Ooedo, whatever - share the same sprite with the blue dress and red bow.
Ah, missed the posts.. A thanks for the info Seth, it's at least good to see artists taking note of the other types of dolls. It gets kind of boring when one keeps seeing the whole Shanghai-Hourai designs and stuff and see nothing particularly new or interesting.
