This reminds me distinctly of a bit of promotional artwork for Street Fighter II (when Championship Edition came out, I believe) which showed Zangief in a similar position, receiving some of his scars from a Siberian bear.
Apparently Balalaika wants to do three things: To have cool looking and warm clothes made of leather and fur, a nice meal with exotic meat for her comrades and a light workout and this bear was stupid enough to provide all three things for her.
