I honestly hadn't checked out the pool. Didn't know what it was about. More than outrage I ,well, lets just say my brain short-circuited for a while. While I REALLY (I mean it people) DO NOT WANT TO Clarify my position on this "issue" (look up broken base in Tv tropes , it will help), I still want to apologize for my weird reaction. just in case anyone got ticked off or anything.

Hmm... I think the closest you'd get to "genocidal dictator" for American leaders would be Andrew Jackson (see: Trail of Tears, expansion of executive power (leading to the nickname "King Andrew")).

About the hair and green eyed thing, you know, as a fellow chilean, that the upper class here seem to think they are high european royalty or something, despite being mostly noveau riche. Maybe they are spoofing that with the colors, as this "person " was from a wealthy family. Or just applying Rule of Sexy perhaps.

I doubt the artist of this pic cares that deeply about Chile.
More likely, it's that they only go for black hair and brown eyes when they're specifically trying to say "traditional Japanese beauty", and change the color for everyone else. (Plus all Americans/English are blonde with blue eyes.)

Pinochet's eyes were blue, so I don't see the reason to change the colour in order to make him more attractive. Also, his rack was slightly less impressive. Artistic licences, I guess...

That photograph was selected among others because they decided the dark shades made him look more like a badass. If you look carefully you'll notice you can see his eyes, which doesn't normally happen with sunglasses.
I met him in person. Even as a child I could tell he was an unpleasant fellow. But he signed two books for me so I guess he had a good impression of yours truly.

Still, the whole series is well-researched, with more references (both anecdotal and factual) than an actual high school history textbook. They know where they're going with this, at least.

Well, that's your opinion. Did you read my comments at all? I said that, I do not wish to clarify mi opinion about him, neither positive or negative. Never called him a villain, never called him a saint. I was just surprised by the fact that he is being depicted as girl in Danbooru. If you believe Pinochet did right, be my guest, but you have no right to criticize me for simply not declaring support or opposition. Also, calling someone a national disgrace over that it's simply pathetic. This the only time I'm answering your comments about this or anyone else about politics, since the comments section does not deserve to be clogged with political debates. Especially foreign ones that have been going on by decades.

It might have to do with the fact that in some western circles, particularly some powerful American circles, Pinochet's reputation went beyond "Oh, he's just misunderstood..." to actually being idolized in a way, "the financial savior of Chile and South America", "one of the greatest leaders of the postwar age", "a glorious defender of freedom to be remembered forever". These really aren't exaggerations, believe it or not, there were definitely people for whom Pinochet wasn't just some "necessary evil" but really an admirable leader. I mean, you can kind of see some of this in the comments (though I'm speaking more about news articles and U.S. government journals from the 1970s and 1980s, which very publicly praised him).
