Closer to "Do as I say or everyone will know that I violently raped you with a sharpened stake." I seriously don't understand this threat, here and in the broader sense, at all. Why make it? Why accede to it? None of it makes sense. As soon as a plot uses this device I immediately stop caring because it's lost all believability to me, especially for crimes as monstrous as this.

It's a shame thing. I could see it with rape and "lighter" stuff like that, but not this. Eh.

So for you, a youkai being raped by a human isn't shameful? No, I worded it wrong. I mean, in real life, most often, rape victims have trouble reporting the felony to the authority. Because they feel guilty, they think it's their fault, because they're shameful, hell if I know. And this is Gensokyo, where there's no real authority. The only person keeping things in order around Gensokyo is Marisa's friend, Reimu. That's right, the only one that could help Satori is that violent girl that keeps attacking people when there's an accident, following a "shoot first ask after" policy. Add to that the fact that Satori is a youkai, and Marisa is a human. And Satori is a satori (wow Captain Obvious), so she's already quite hated by everyone. Nobody but Kourin would help her, and I don't see Satori saying to Rinnosuke "hey, mate, I just met you and it's crazy, but I love you ! Oh, and by the way, that girl you're more or less considering as your daughter raped me with a broom. Mind helping me, mate?"

Rape may be one thing; I don't know. But this is torture, plain and simple, even though it's sexual torture. Besides, the threat was that Marisa would herself reveal the (documented) crime if Satori didn't come back. It's not about Satori revealing it so much as Marisa crowing it to the world. No matter how well-loved she is, coming out and saying that you tortured someone in cold blood would lose you allies rather quickly, I imagine. And Rinnosuke loves her; in an earlier page, Satori says that, reading his mind, she knows that their feelings are reciprocal. They've known each other for some months as well, so it's not nearly as crazy as you make it out to be.

Maybe. Except that Rinnosuke helped Marisa to settle down and knew her father, I highly doubt he would believe Satori. At best, he would think she's trying to remove Marisa from the quation, at worst, he would think she's the crazy one. And for the rest, it's still a simple human overpowering a youkai, so nobody would move a finger to help Satori. Except maybe Byakuren, but Satori doesn't know her, and there's a chance of that comic happening before UFO. Lastly, there's the shame problem. Youkais are mostly considered as superior to human, so a youkai admitting she lost to a human and end up tortured by her is likely to be scorned (with comments like "you got tortured by a human? Surely you weren't really fighting"). In Satori's case, even more than before.
The only way for Satori to avoid this is to return to the Old Hell and stay here forever. If she tries to tell her pets and that they try to attack Marisa, Reimu will end up beating them youkais and leaving them knocked out for Marisa to play. If she tries to tell Rinnosuke, he'll thinks she's lying per jealousy. If she tries to tell that she's been tortured, she'll be scorned and treated as an outcast, or even accused of being responsable for it. Even Justice doesn't care for the victims, only for the act. No matter what she does, there's no escape. No happy end. Ever. Enjoy.

I believe you're missing the point. Satori's not revealing anything. She doesn't have to say anything. This is Marisa, on her own accord, telling people what she did. That's the threat, which is why it perplexes me. If Satori stays in the old hell, Marisa will tell people that she sexually tortured Satori, because that's what she threatened to do if Satori didn't come back for another round of torture. Marisa even says that she documented it. This isn't a matter of Satori going to some sort of nonexistent police force or staying quiet out of shame at all.
Besides, at this point I doubt a Youkai losing to Marisa is considered particularly shameful, given that she's beaten up pretty much every power player in Gensokyo by now.

And I think you're missing my point too : Marisa doesn't have much to lose from divulging that Satori was tortured. The main point of interest here isn't "Marisa tortured Satori", but rather "Satori got tortured". After all, there's no real proof that Marisa recorded herself, she just need to rape Satori with that broom, and record her while she's unconscious. Nobody knows who did it, they just know that Satori got molested, as Marisa said exactly "I've got everything that happened today recorded". Meaning a camera or something like that, off-screen, while Satori was knocked out. Or she just had to take picture while leaving the broom in Satori's thingy, and then display them on a public board.
Kinda like when you rape someone : you don't smile to the camera while recording yourself, no, you hide your face and focus on the victim. Or you keep raping her until the girl is unconscious, you write stuff on her body, ejaculate on her face and then take a picture to make her look like a slut. You don't put her on a chair, and then take a picture of you smiling to the camera while shoving a dick up her throat and making a V sign. If you record yourself, it's a proof against you. If you can record her, it's blackmail and probably enough to destroy her reputation in the whole school. And most probably ruin her life too, I guess. Remember this : the first explanation is ALWAYS the best, no matter what you say afterward, people will say those are just excuses, that you're trying to hide the truth, and they won't believe you.
And even if Satori managed to rat Marisa out, that would only add to her fame rather than ruining her reputation. Satori's only hope here is to give up on Rinnosuke. Or to kill Marisa. But it's a rape doujin, so, of course, maybe I'm overthinking it and it's really a shitty excuse for a sequel.

I fail to see how that would add to Marisa's fame rather than infamy. I seriously do. The crime seems entirely too monstrous to be construed as anything but torture in any but the most barbaric of nations, and Gensokyo is not such a nation, nor does it operate on, I believe, Islamic extremist views on sex and rape. But let us say, for example, that she posts this anonymously on a bulletin board, meaning pictures of a giant splintery stake rammed up Satori's vagina; a stake large enough, by the look of it, to go all the way through to the head. How could that provoke anything but pity? How could it possibly be construed as the fault of the victim? How could an incident-resolver look at that and decide, "Yup, not gonna look into that, not my business,"? I believe that you may overestimate the antipathy between the humans and the Youkai. It's not as though the Youkai are still regularly snacking on the locals, and while the relations aren't exactly friendly, they're not so awful that people would cheer for cold-blooded torture as a victory of humans over Youkai.
Look, I'm all for the odd bleak and depressing story. I don't mind the gore. I even like Yandere. But this is poorly-executed and nonsensical, through and through.

Maybe I'm overestimating it, yeah. In my view, humans in Gensokyo are like your average Stormfront user.

To be totally honest, this is a rape doujin, so the plot is clearly weak and nonsensical. It's not the "you damaged my car so I'll rape your whole family" kind of plot, but it's close.
Let's just stop here. I agree that I may slightly overestimate the antipathy between humans in youkais, but I still think that Satori is stuck and can't do anything else but obey Marisa. In other words, I believe we reached a stalemate in our discussion. So yeah, have a good day, and see ya around, mate.
Also remember that as a whole, the "Underground"(Before they became underground) Races of youkai were much more prosecuted compared to the other races at the time. To the point where other youkai and humans agreed that these other races of youkai should be banished underground in the first place.

Fair enough. I won't continue this further either, so let's end on a conciliatory note.
Wow the comments are overkill. Seriously why? Personally I think anything that has X is in love with Rinnosuke is already nonsensical, why don't we just relax and read it normally?

I know I'm being a thread-necromancer here, but FRien basically hit it on the head. Two of the shittier aspects of humanity are A) People tend to blame the victim unless the perpetrator's guilt is clear-cut and obvious (especially if the perpetrator is of high social standing), and B) People tend to believe the first story they hear, and close their minds to alternate interpretations.

Because some of us (I hope most) are horrified, and some of us didn't really understand how Marisa could afford to blackmail Satori. And I personally think it's a good thing to think while reading. Otherwise, you're just like watching a movie, you turn your brain off. Remember Umineko ; that novel indirectly scolds you for no going along with the whole investigation aspect and just reading without thinking.
A western person probably wouldn't. But look, there are places on this goddamn world where a woman who has been raped in in risk of death from her male relatives because she is a shame for her family now. It happens every year, perhaps even every month. And Gensokyo is basically close to ancient japan in attitude, even in canonical sense. Who knows whether she would consider loss of face from having it known something like this has been done to her worse or unacceptable. Or she might fear what people would talk to her family and friends. Or it's a dumb plot device, that's also possible. It's pretty hard to read this sort of stuff, regardless, and I really aren't sure this isn't just guro fetishism instead of trying to tell a serious, dark story. Just felt like pointing out the world isn't simple, or not-horrible.
Edit: Oh great, it was a year ago, not a day ago as I first read. Sorry for necroing.
