I think giant cans and showing off said cans is not exactly exclusive to western devs. It seems more like Sona was built to appeal to the eastern demographic, since she's kinda waifu-ish with the whole 'Summoner and psychic link' thing.

It's not exclusive to western devs, sure, but it feels like stuff like LoL really does go all-out on T&A even moreso than Japanese stuff. It's kind of funny how Japan gets a bad rap for fanservice, when the west is pretty much the #1 exporter of silly boob armor.
Of course, people always argue about the few exceptions in stuff like that, but goodness, look at the rest of it.

Definitely not arguing that. It is pretty obvious they'd want to capitialize on that kind of fandom as well, I just thought it was funny that they essentially did a pretty American take on Miku.
Fun Fact: Sona's won the Best Boobs poll on the NA LoL Forums three years running. Last year Ahri was very close to beating her, but 3rd ranked wasn't even close to them.

Or like them both as I do haha. Though I liked Sona long before I even gave Miku a damn much less vocaloids in general. Only recently did I start liking and appreciating them so yeah. Sona and Miku, I like em both really.
