One of Shinmyoumaru's spellcards is called "Shingeki no Kobito". The joke is that kobito literally means "little person" (which is what she is), while the "kyojin" in "Shingeki no Kyojin" literally means "big person", not to mention that the name of the spellcard is a reference to Shingeki no Kyojin anyway.

Do we even know that it's "Kobito" in this instance? Because it could've been a pun on "Kyojin", so he could've intended it to be "Shoujin" this one time. Or "Shounin", which is still close.

Pixiv title: "進撃の小人" Shingeki no Kobito or "Attack on Midgets".

Not what I asked for, and "attack on midgets" is not a translation. You just took the subtitle "Attack on Titan" and changed a word.

Shingeki no Kobito actually means "Advancing Dwarves". I have no clue why the official translation reverses the direction of the attack...

Probably because "Shingeki no Kyojin" was translated as "Attack On Titan" and "Shingeki no Kobito" is a reference to that.

Or, if you really want to get it close, "小人" can also be read as "kojin" (albiet an uncommon alternate reading compared to kobito).

Even without that one spellcard, the joke would have likely been made anyway when you take her size into account.
