If wood types are mixed, they lose value in recycling so they can only be used as filler. Like being shredded and chipped to make turf for athletic fields from mixed wood.
Ah, I was standing behind the camera when this was taken, on a visit to Shirakawa-go in September 2007. (Unless it's a very similar photo taken by someone who went after and I can't tell the difference. I recognise all of these ema though.)
See that ema 2 to the right of the Nice Boat one? Kinda washed out in the photo? That's the one we left. It's hard to read, but it says (in English) "YOU GONNA GET TAKEN HOME" with a picture of Rena in the middle.
