I kid you not: When I studied Greek and Norse mythology in school, I had no idea who Gunnlod even was. One Google search later and she was revealed to be a norse goddess and this was simply the anime personification of her, which I have to admit is a lot cuter than she is portrayed according to Norse mythology.
