  • The Prismrivers ~Final Chapter~

This is it, the final chapter with epilogue. It has been a fun ride but this is not the end, I might draw some bonus-pictures regarding "The Prismrivers"-story. Thank you all for reading! Japanese translation by fantastic Motomachitencho: pixiv #51319389 » It has been really great that japanese readers can also enjoy this story.

Damnit Setz, why did you have to go and break the fourth wall like that? I was not expecting to have an discussion with my family about the ramifications of resurrecting the dead.

Is it necrophilia when it was dead before? Probably not.

Everything has a flow and a season. To reach out of one world and pull back to ours has a tremendous toll. Ask yourselves this, am I willing to give up everything, with no guarantee of results? If, you can say yes by all means.

    What you want my answer?

I'm pretty sure whoever is dead doesn't want themselves to be alive again. Cause death is freeing yourself from the burden of life. That is why Yuyuko is such a jolly un-alive girl. She has no care for the world, yet in the same time she can know everything because she is not constraint from the fear of death.

But again, i type this without thinking twice, just wanted a feel in words.

Given the circumstances? Probably... no... most certainly the exact same thing.

Having asked my own sister, the answer is a firm no.

If there's one thing I have a firm stance on, it's that you don't screw around with life or death. Sure, it may give good results. But, more than likely, it'll give bad results. And possibly screw a lot of people over.

Though I have always toyed with the thought of immortality in many of it's forms, including resurrection, but to do it on a family member... Well, as you've said before Mima, I wouldn't be the only one suffering. Everyone is, in their own way... I guess the main factor would be if they accepted their death. I mean, if my sisters died in an accident, I'd think they'd want to live again. But if they saw it coming and prepared themselves for it? I wouldn't. But in Layla's shoes... I'd do it. I guess this makes me a bad guy, huh?

I've read enough Lovecraft to know that the dead should remain dead...

Stephen King said it best: "Dead is better."

I think that yes. The dead shouldn't be ressurected especially when you do so for emotional reasons, I'm not saying it for moral reasons and all that stuff but just think about it. If someone could revieve, yes even with a toll to pay life would lose its meaning or rather its importance, meaning that dead and sacrifice (self-sacrifice and martyrdom) would lose their meaning too. However this is just my opinion and I have my own reasons.

"Sometimes, dead is better." An important distinction.
