Well, I probably have the exact same expression as Sara right now. Though, if you frequent danbooru, you've seen things much worse than that :3

Considering Shizuki was a normal fox that had children. This wouldn't seem strange at all. Its only when put into context of humanoid beings.

I've seen just about everything Danbooru has to offer...I've been desensitized to strange sexual things and especially violence, but something about casually having someone else's snot in your mouth makes my stomach turn.
I'm assuming that's a Japanese thing, 'cuz I've never heard of it here in northwest 'murka.

One of the commenters on pixiv said that he heard that his friend had this happen to him when he was a child.

And personally, I think the pilot comics were worse than this.

Actually, now that I had a chance to think about it:

I won't be surprised if that stomach-churning act of Shizuki's is actually common behavior among animals, especially among canines and felines.

Think about it: animals probably do not know how to clear their dried-up or runny mucus from their noses, especially when young, so they will most likely need somebody to do it for them. And a blocked nose can be life-threatening for a baby animal.

And since they don't know how to clear the blockage on their own, the only possible method of relief is to have another party literally suck the mucus out of their noses. And if we are to go along with the belief that this is common behavior among animals, then it shouldn't be as stomach-churning as we think it is. At the very least, the animals doing it for their young sure don't see it as disgusting.
