The USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-A) was a 23rd century Federation Constitution-class starship operated by Starfleet. This starship was the second Federation ship to bear the name Enterprise. Following the Khitomer mission, the Enterprise was ordered by Starfleet Command to return to spacedock to be decommissioned.
It is. The TNG-era Enterprises were dreadnoughts, IIRC.
Eh, probably just a Space Battleship Yamato reference or something. Whatever.
It depends on the source you're looking at. The TOS and TOS movie Enterprises were considered cruisers, but early FASA RPG stuff had the Excelsior-class as a battleship. IIRC their early TNG stuff had the Galaxy-class as a battleship as well. The canon is vague about it, though 'Yesterday's Enterprise' called the 1701-C a cruiser and the 1701-D a battleship (then again, that was in the alternate timeline); the Connie-class was alternately called a cruiser and battlecruiser in different scenes in Star Trek III. Personally, I look at 1701 to 1701-C as cruisers, with the D and the E as battleships/dreadnoughts.
That would have been her older sister. In the second line of DC comics (as well as some of the novels, including the novelization of TFF) Kirk is initially unsure, actually a little resentful, of the A.
