Well, Sabo set out to become a pirate at FIRST. After he survived the encounter with the Celestial Dragon's ship, s'probably after that when he joined the Revolutionaries. Koala, dunno if she wanted to pursue being a pirate after, but she did oppose the world government too afterwards.
