It said sample...I guess we're probably not getting the full story?

I'm finally playing the game and man it takes will to not whittle your resources down to the last bit.
Development is super annoying too since unlike construction you can fail and you fail a lot.

You're just starting out so it's like that. Once you get at least to the upper level 50s, you will have a surpplus of resources as long as you aren't an idiot trying to constantly go for Large construction all the time. When you're at that point, the only time you really get low on resources is if you try to gamble at Large construction or for special event maps.

How do the special event maps gobble up resources? I'm not really sure how they work...

Mostly by the intensity of the missions' pace.

Event map will be closed after the event is over. This means you can no longer have the event's rewards.
It translate into endless sortie before the time runs out.

    A. They're usually unreasonably hard unless you've got maxxed out ships or something. Things like the Aoki Hagane crossover ships were supposed to basically one-hit your ships.

    B. They tend to have a vicious compass spin or two that can send you into really hard fights with no chance of seeing the boss

    C. They require you beat the boss multiple times in a short period of time to "beat". They go away if you don't beat it soon enough.

Because of these, you tend to ram through repair buckets (and the materials for repair) really, really fast on event maps.

Drop rates of rarer ships are also higher in comparison to normal maps, so it's not uncommon seeing admirals trying and farming event maps: I got my Uzuki on the 2014 Spring Event.

That's why I save my buckets. Close to 220 so should be good to go for this. High risk and high reward is what it comes down to.

Try the Summer Event now if you haven't. A hundred buckets can run dry within a day...

    It's because!!
    I see. I understand Inazuma-chan's intentions now. I see, I see.
    This abysmal state of affairs...!!
    Nod
    And then...
    Right.
you know what thing we're missing the most at this post?
For example, there's everyone's trust, there's teamwork, and there's plenty more-
It's because we won't get a lot of chances like this!
    Hieeeeー
There are more important things than just resources, you know.
If we can just cook up some delectable curry, this abysmal deficit in our resources here at the post...
    In use
    How much development?
    Galley
But you know, my dear Inazuma-chan.
So Inazuma-chan's looking to enter the contest and receive some much-coveted resources, then?
    It's resources! Nanodesu!
It's a given that we're not using roux. Curry roux I believe is pre-made curry base, so she's saying that they have to make it from scratch.
    Nnaahh-!!
    Commander-san,
Wouldn't that be a bit unreasonable?
I've been meaning to ask you, Commander-san. How much development did you do last time?
    Yes, exactly.
Please do not make it any more complicated.
