I hope not. Gou is really starting to warm up to me and I rather enjoy the antics of MAHAAA. That and it's only episode 16. Even if they plan to have Chase join the team, killing off Gou so early would be just plain bullshit and bad writing.

Well... When they introduced MAHAAA~, Steinbelt said the Mach driver puts a strain on its user and Gou, in episode 16, said he was "running out of time" during that fight. All these are signs pointing to someone dying. Either Gou dies to make Chase a good guy, or Chase dies to make Gou realize not all Roastporkomudes are bad and give Gou some upgrade to stop the driver from killing him. The latter seems more probable cause they can easily bring back Chase (i.e a robot) for their stupid Taisen movies.

At the very least They can just pull a Akira/Gotou from OOO. Rather than kill them they can just have MAHAAA leave for sometime or not use the driver. Killing him off is just too dark, especially for a show like Drive. That and wouldn't it be better if they had 3 Riders? They'll sell more toys and not have to deal with the backlash. Either way, I hope they won't pull another Urobuchi writes Gaim on us. I had enough death counts from that to survive me another decade.
