Speaking of Vasili, did he actually wrap his rifle as well? Not sure if what that does other than breaking your gun to the enemy's view in his scope.
I don't think there is any other reason for snipers to wrap tier gun in cloth... oh wait maybe to prevent the rifle to stick the sniper's hand during the winter because of the sweat freezing but I am not entirely sure
