I'm sorry, but is Bleach still even relevant? I mean, this series just kind of fell off the radar in the anime community, after the anime ended. After that, the series has just been suffering from mediocrity, and i feel that it should just end before it REALLY outstays it's welcome.
"Relevancy" really isn't an issue when fan art is concerned. Old, new, past it's time? Doesn't matter. Whether it was yesterday or 30 years ago fan art is someone's expression of something they enjoyed for others who also enjoyed that same thing.
On a separate note; You nailed a problem that has been endemic to the anime/manga industry in general for a long time. Stuff just doesn't end. I typically get about 3 seasons into a show and then drift off when I don't see any conclusion in sight. For me the most important part of a story is the ending since getting to the end is what a story/journey is all about.
However, I don't let that ruin my memory of the enjoyment I had when I first read/watched something. Bleach was a fun show when I stumbled upon it while flipping through TV channels back in 2004 (my god that was a decade ago...). Lots of good memories of that time. Same goes for shows like Ranma 1/2 where I was screaming "just end already!" (Rumiko Takahashi is the mistress of not knowing how to end a story. Urusei Yatsura *cough*).
But why ruin something for yourself? Just capture how a show/story made you first feel and let that be your lasting impression. Remember something that made you smile with a smile. That's how I roll.

That's exactly what i'm saying. This is the reason why i dropped One Piece. At fist, it was a legitimately fun series to look at, and every chapter left you wanting more. I want to say that ever since the latter chapters of the "Thriller Bark Arc", the series has been really stretching longer than it has to. It's been a little over two years, and we are still at the Dedradossa Arc. The One Piece series is a series that always had poor pacing, but it's inexcusable that this series is still stretching for as long as it is, with useless filler, backstories of characters that we don't know, or care about, and just plain bad writing. Fairy Tale has some of the opposite problem, with the series going way too fast. The series goes though time skips, like Goku goes through food. It makes no sense how that series keeps getting readers, when the pacing in that series is atrocious. It's limited to shounen series too. Beserk, Ah My Goddess, Case Closed (Detective Conan)and Kaji. are series that went on for far longer, than they should.
