    I've long known (from personal experience) cats' penchant for such sleeping habits, but do dogs (or in this case, foxes) do the same?

    That is a very "big dog sneaking into nap" pose. It's the most uncomfortable comfortable position know to man. It's funny how often a big dog thinks he's smaller than he is and a small dog thinks he's much bigger.
