Now its confirm that Akebono is the flattest among the 7th DesDiv!
Edit: Oh no, no, I'm definitely not complaining. Just that my Akebono is in charge with the bucket expeditions and she might get upset with my comment.

It has been noted by many people actually. Seems like the other 7thDesDiv CG has similar issue.

Maybe she just hadn't hit the turbo lane to let fat grow on some of the more.. let's just say.. 'strategic' places.. But yeah, i could see why you could said that she's kinda skinny, with her rib cage kinda visible..

Pretty much all the artists have improved since their original drawings back in Vanilla Kancolle. It's not much of a change in design but rather just improvement of art. I give Shibafu alot of flake for example as one of my least favorite official Kancolle artists, but even he is getting better since the old days.
If Kadokawa wanted to repay all their arists to redraw all the original girls, they'd all probably "Look different".
I'd say from then to now, probably Konishi has changed this least, He already had finalized his art style mostly so now he's just moved on to more dynamic poses.
It's probably the forearms that stick out the most. They're rather spindly, and her rather long legs stand out, especially if you compare her to the rather stumpy Hatsushimo art. It's kind of funny to see such disparate art styles lined up side-by-side.
It kinda worries me that people thinks Akebono is skinny in a bad way. When I was a kid, I remember being skinny at the point that I could see my ribcage, but I ate a lot and also played a lot. I lived near a soccer camp and like to play almost 4 hours a day, daily. I had a healthy lifestyle, even if I was so skinny.
She's not skinny in a unhealthy way in my opinion, if you consider her equipment's weight and the exercise she do when in duty.
I only find it strange how skinny and long he made the new DesDiv7's legs, which was the most improved part from his last work.
Seems to me like Drew have a bit of an issue drawing legs. He did reach a good point with the Christmas and new years one, but he might have took it a step too far here. Made the thighs so skinny that it looks almost unhealthy. Maybe he was pressed for time in for this one or was trying to experiment?

Other than that, I don't see anything strange.
In all of Drew's art he has always seemed to have a bad case of QUALITY legs and wobbly lines (the Sazanami Nyantype art is probably best example of this). On Akebono here it looks okay though her joints (especially her ankles and knees) look way too pointy. The anatomy on Ushio's summer art is probably the worst offender. Out of all the Kancolle artists though he is definitely the one who has improved the most, not to mention he has a recognizable and unique style.
