Well, mostly because "amorphous, liquid-like creature which can transform into a humanoid form without any primary or secondary sexual characteristics" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue well.
Then again, the template for his humanoid form is a female human, and his default looks resemble a girl more so then a boy or a youth, so... "shoujo" would be more appropriate than "bishounen".
He devoured a dying woman who came from Japan. Mutual consent in this case, as the woman was possessed and had a grudge against one of the Demon Lords.
