This is making me sad since I've been wanting a New XL since its' release due to my old 3DS' right shoulder button going bad on me, but I have no source of income to obtain one.

Totally understand that, I also wanted New XL since it first rumored last year, but waiting for lower price to get one, and seems Nintendo already preparing the NX..
I've had and have a few 3DS's, and when I saw only the new XL was coming out, I was a bit saddened, but purchased it anyway. Sure enough, they released the new standard size 3DS a couple months ago, so I ended up getting that one too. That being said, unfortunately, it seems both of them are giving me issues with the c-stick nub, with the down not functioning as good as I'd hope it would.
I can totally relate to the second panel. My hands are too small for my sister's 3DS XL and it feels really big compared to my good old "regular" sized 3DS. Plus my 3DS is the Legend of Zelda limited version, so I would feel really bad to put it aside for a bigger 3DS. ^_^;
Also, all those 3DSes. I gotta wonder how much money Shibabro and the shipgirls have.
Monster Hunter 4 n3DSXL XL is the best looking one, IMO. The faster speed is noticeable loading up the eShop, for example - 3 seconds versus 12-15 seconds on the older 3DS. Ditto Miiverse, at 3-5s versus 20+ seconds.
