If eating parts of Kaguya could grant the same type of immortality that she and Mokou have, then there'd be a whole bunch of immortals running around instead of 3.

no no, if you eat Kaguya's liver, you will become an immortal like Kaguya but Kaguya will die instead
But doesn't this type of immortality set you in the state you became immortal in? Meaning that her need for drugs would *never* disappear?
We know Mokou's hair grew longer and became white (also i suppose she didn't have red eyes back then), so something can change. We also know not eating doesn't kill her but the body still wants to eat, so it probably doesn't affect external causes (so you don't get a permanent cold if you become immortal while you have a cold). Even simply the fact that their brains and state of mind can change enough to remember/forget memories or feel different emotions (which are just chemicals in their brain after all) makes me think it's a bit more complicated than just "being frozen in a particular state".
If.. If I eat the flesh of Hourai... I can get the power of immortality, right...? Yes... so... I'm sorry! This idiot rabbit! Don't resist me! Dang it... W-What? What's wrong? If I do that... If I do that... Surely that my... My sickness can be cured.
