For context, at the time, Square Enix patched the game so unused houses would be demolished if not used for a while (houses are a limited commodity in FFXIV). So, at Christmas Eve, you had a lot of people camping vacant houses, hoping to be firsts to buy the plot.

Well, I guess it's sad in a way.
