Wow; this actually seems like some rather decent armor, of course it could be better. The area where men's (and excuse my language) stick and rocks for would normally be at, could definitely use some protection, even if one wearing the armor is woman. Possibly some mail or maybe padded armor would work but depending on the time period this realatively realistic.

This looks like it was drawn based upon a real suit of armor. The character is either wearing a cloth over the mail, or the mail shirt is just blue and there's dark grey mail below. There would be what amounts to a steel cup down there, but the chain shirt would cover over it. (You'd still see a bulge, though, it's rather large and bulky and noticeable.)
