    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 1969

    This lovely young lady was decorating a post, the other three sides of which were decorated with manga.

    Even in this shop, the were selling all sorts of souvenirs from all over Japan. The store's called "Souvenir Akihabara", so if you're ever at Narita's Terminal 3, I think you should stop by.

    It's from that generic woeful cry - "Mom and dad went to [some cool place] and ALL I GOT WAS THIS LOUSY T-SHIRT".

    It somehow evolved into a trope and, ironically, became a rather popular t-shirt print. Apparently, it was first spotted on t-shirts about, uh, 40 years ago.
