Actually, it's Henderson Field from Guadalcanal. See the 1943 picture of the airstrips in wikipedia
I hadn't considered Henderson Field since that was, in theory, already taken. Unless Airfield Hime now "Henderson Field, Midway" and Midway Hime is the rest of Midway (sort of what happened in the anime).
So what about Airfield Hime? Will she get a new nickname since this Hime is the Henderson Field?
Funnily enough, in a doujin I read Airfield is lovingly referred as Licorice . I find it queer that this is flipped out with the advent of this new princess.
(Out of topic, does anybody know a website in which I can read non-H JAPANESE FAN COMICS without being suspected as a pervert?)

Licoris is actually her fleet. Like the real Henderson houses the Cactus Air Force :)
Didn't play the game, but read it before that she's referred as Licorise air force.
So the idea that abyssals were sunken or American ships is crumbling?
I'm pretty sure the "Abyssals are US Navy/Allied Powers" hypothesis was busted to hell and back with the introduction of Iowa, to say nothing about how the very existence of Chi and Re put it on very shaky ground to begin with -- USN had no torpedus cruisers in WWII; and no single vessel in the world has all of Re's abilities (Iowa/Montana-tier main cannons, Midway-tier aircraft, and KTKM-tier torpedus in the form of midget subs)
So if Lycoris Hime was Henderson Field, then post-war she would have become Honiara International Airport. A doujin about her post-war life might be pretty interesting.
