Does the efficiency even matter to an immortal though? Usually efficiency is an evolved trait so animals can live longer by not putting stress on their bodies.

She conserves energy so that she's got more of it to hurl at Kaguya.
Anyway, dialogue in Urban Legend in Limbo seems to indicate her body does go through stresses. And being immortal doesn't necessarily mean she has unlimited amounts of energy. Furthermore, I believe that in Imperishable Night she surrenders because she gets tired from regenerating continuously.

Edit: Correct me if I'm wrong. I probably am.
Mokou's limiter is her treshold of pain. If translations were correct, Mokou gave up because of too much pain. She may be raised her treshold much higher than that of ordinary human, but it still not limitless. During her boss battle playables were killing for real Mokou after each spellcard.
E1: THWiki states "feeling the sting of death when she reaches the brink of oblivion brings her a great deal of pain and fatigue when she immediately revives"..."It should be noted though, that this fatigue may be completely mental since she needs no sustenance such as food or sleep to stay alive."

Okay, I can see where I got that part totally wrong. How about my other points?
Not trying to be argumentative here. I'm an idiot, but I'm trying to remedy that as much as possible. I feel the best way to do that is to acquire information.
I got beat, but yea, basically, Mokou and Kaguya defy practically all known laws of Physics and Biology.
Any pain they recieve is all mental since they don't really need "anything" to survive. They'd be unstoppable if they reached nirvana or some sort of enlightenment.
You may not be able to kill an Immortal, but you could imprison one or put them through some sort of hellish pain. Which is what happens to most immortals(or self proclaimed) in Animes. JoJo's Bizzare Adventure and Yuyu Hakoshou basically did that with their immortal bad guys.
Both Mokou and Kaguya are canonically lazy, so their honestly about as "Human" as any other character. Putting aside the whole can't die thing.
... sometimes, Mokou's fights are quite violent, that she sometimes loses some body parts... even though she’s immortal, I guess she can’t regenerate her lost parts like Deadpool, right?
Found a loose threeead!♪
Ah! Hey, don't pull on that!
Even though it wasn't sticking to me yet...
