Yea, there is plenty of salt about it. However, one can argue that while she have a penalty, the +4 accuracy compensate for it, compare to the pasta guns kai that have to get upgraded to +9 to lose their accuracy penalty and actually get a bonus instead. I think that Freedom guns may become quite fearsome once they can get upgraded (they eventually will).
Well, you lobbed 40 x 16-inch shells at Nowaki back in '44 to no effect. Bit late to start complaining about it.
Missing a small, maneuvering destroyer at 33km while moving at full speed is nothing to be ashamed of. The British didn't consider it reasonable to even TRY to shoot at a ship at that range. The fact that Iowa straddled Nowake under those conditions is the most impressive thing about that story.

Not to denigrate Nowake's captain and helmsman either. That was a good bit of dodging on their part.
But yeah, this is bullshit. Nagato can use her guns without penalty, right?
Bullshit. For the most part, Western players have reacted with complete apathy. Whenever I bring it up I'm told to fuck off.
Geez I wonder why. It couldn't possible be because an annoying fuck has been going around /jp/, /a/, the wiki, himeuta, and reddit being an annoying little prick nonstop for weeks about how this is proof that the devs have a thing against Americans. This despite the well documented fact that Tanaka has had it in his head since at least September 2013 that he'd like to add multiple foreign ships from Englad, Germany, America, and others.

Here's the thing, Iowa got straddles on Nowaki at Truk, and while they were not direct hits, they did show that Iowa's guns were accurate at those sorts of ranges.
Then again, Iowa's accuracy was really more due to her fire-control system than anything else.
