Clearly, the real problem here isn't games or photos, but the mobile phones themselves.

The problem isn't stuff but people. Mobile phones (tech in general) like weapons have a utility that is beneficial/critical to society and is only detrimental when misused. The only exception in my mind is narcotics, since it affects the mind and consequentially your self control. That stuff should be regulated as much as possible. People can only be free if they have the ability to weigh the consequences of their actions. Freedom without responsibility is anarchy.
Considering how many people there are in the world, the amount of true idiots are really more of a rounding error than anything else.

Yes, because a small amount of idiots represent ALL of humanity.
People are also getting banned as well. So you take the risk that all of your pokemon are gonna get deleted anyway.
This is not true AT ALL, Niantic has never stated that, players in Europe haven't been banned even when the game rolled out there, hell, there hasn't been a single soul that report they have been banned because dowloading the APK. If we could stop spewing rumors without source or even logic behind it, that would be great.
No one's been banned yet, though we have been getting zone-locked. Such as in Thailand where all Pokemon generation, Pokestop and Gym generation data have all been wiped. The Pokemon that have been caught seem to be unaffected, but this only means we won't be getting any new Pokemon or running around capturing gyms in the meanwhile.
Now that support for Intel-based chips have been enables, all that's left is for the game to be properly released in my neck of the woods...

Of course, this plays into a shout-out to the games; Iowa's got a pretty absurd armour value to reflect the superior "tankiness" of the American ships. This also ups the humour factor for me since Fubuki's quite amazed at how easily Iowa shrugs off the shell.
