I filled in the notes for the 70s/80s, but I'm not sure what show is represented in the bottom row of the 90s column. My first guess was Revolutionary Girl Utena, but that doesn't seem to fit.

Aye. Still, slice of life titles such as Kamichu!, Aria, and Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou were nowhere close to being as popular as some of the other titles previously mentioned.
I'd probably swap Dragonball or in for Cowboy Bebop. Also swap Nanoha for Kamichu, then have it switch positions with Haruhi so Nanoha follows the Gundam chain.
Tack on a fifth line to; Himitsu no Akko-chan, Cutie Honey, Creamy Mami, Sailormoon, PreCure

It's also one of the worst anime, which is one example why anime isn't anything special anymore. Anime was at its prime in the 80s and 90s. Now in the "'00s", anime for the most part is terrible. Sure, there's a few diamonds in the rough, but it's mostly been a crappy decade for anime. Anime has lost the sparkle it had in previous decades.
Ehh... I'm still an anime fan, but I can't stand how stupid most anime are these days.
They mostly showed the B/W 60's shows... aww, there were great other examples. I'd like to make a compendium of Japanese animation since 1919 with examples every decade ending with the ninth year... of course, that would be conclusive of not any actual television serials until the late 50s.
