English translations on English is surreal by itself.

'This is a pen' is the cliche 'textbook English'; the equivalent to '¿Donde Esta La Biblioteca?' in Spanish.

Although it is certainly used in English, the exact phrase isn't in any current text book as I know. It, probably was back in the day, however.

"What's this?" - "It's a pen" is there, as is "This is your pen", but not "This is a pen". As far as I know.

As the artist said they did the English through Excite's translator, it's intentionally crappy.
