What I find so strange is that it's based solely upon "bad anatomy", while apparently nobody gives a crap about quality anymore, so long as the sketchy blur has "good anatomy", even if it's an impossible Venus of Wellendorf figure.
I mean, we see people argue for deletion because one breast is slightly larger than the other, but can you look at this and even say for sure what those things on the bottom even are supposed to be?!

@NWSiaCB A good example. One artist I want to flag in the future.

1. This a sketch and probably not the final version. So it is only a plan for a girl that stands like this holding her towel like this. To apply there the same quality standards to finished posts is iffy. 2. I do see that the right shoulder is awful, bad see point 1) for this. The rest is ok, and even proportions are looking correct. If you don't agree here, then you should point out what makes you think that this looks like a figure in one of your links.

He's already an artist that tend to get a good amount of flags. With the way it is, you might as well just petition to purge his entire tag instead. Nuke it to hell is what I say. Saves the trouble and all the fighting, although it is quite entertaining.

1. No. There are some posts from that artist that may be ok. To purge an artist completely is not recommended. Every post has to be evaluated on its own. Doesn't matter if it is an official artwork, a video, a sketch or another full-fleshed image that's not official. 2. The "fighting" is often resulting in comparing posts together. But the post itself rarely gets any defense (and I'm honest: Official art is not a reason why a post should get undeleted or approved, it's just one kind of images (see above)
Well, that is a decently apt description of what Danbooru aspires to be compared to, say, Gelbooru. "Perfection" is impossible to obtain when there's thousands of opinions being mushed together, though.

Even though it is annoying, I think flaggers shouldn't be afraid to flag a work if they think it is bad, just because the majority of us think it is acceptable. On the other hand, the flagger shouldn't expect everyone to just bow down to his opinion and delete it just because one or two people flag it when several others think it is acceptable. I mean, we are in no way hurting for posts, and aggressive flagging helps to cull out a good portion of the chaff. I mean, Danbooru is pretty well staffed. Just looking at a screenshot of the posts from Gel vs Dan and you can already tell which is which.
As a side note, I kind of wish Danbooru had a subdivision in the forum to share links to collections of images under a specific tag that they think is exceptional or a must see. Kind of like 4chan [I can hear it now "oh God, why would you bring that cancer here"] but rather than images, it is just a list of links.
I'm kinda laughing that ever since people are now becoming so strict this days. Like we're a bunch of art critics on a gallery.
You don't have to be an art critic to tell something look like shit.
I always did have an image of dabooru as a sort of art gallery in my mind, except with no refreshment, fees to the second floor and less pictures of dicks.
To clarify: while being official is by no means a reason to warrant instant (re-)approval, I believe that people should be more lenient when reviewing such images. Official art is not immune from anatomy errors, so we risk losing a sizable portion of the gallery by trying to play connoisseurs.
Taking a look, the only deleted official KanColle art we have are all parent/child posts with a non-deleted version.
official_art status:deleted I was talking about official art in general; post #2487899 was also flagged, despite the fact it is official art. I honestly don't see the point why we should lower our scrutiny for official art, though.

I guess we have our own limits when it comes to art, some people limits that to hentai and tits, or another believes the art are outside, not only in draws with tits and ideal measures in girls and some guys.
Danbooru is a gallery yes, but far from reaching the whole definition of art, just maybe the part of the dedication or specialization from the people in front of the pc who dedicates hours to make the draws. Most of the flaggers just have one type of hentai in mind and just uses that to flag any image that cannot really understand or enter to their parameters.

That's very nice since most flags are from me and most are coming through. I don't expect all to come through. That'd be stupid. I don't know what you mean with "most", though. Flags are subjective of course but one should be as objective as possible. And this here doesn't have to do anything with "Hentai".

The Gordon Ramsay of anime art?
The difference lies in what truly isn't a good standard, and what is simply nitpicking at a few nanometres and an absolutely erroneous flagging reason. Which is why when I look at this picture, I think it's starting to slowly evolve into CLAMP style art with huge limbs replaced with necks.

And that's the problem. Anime Art vary from different years and changes overtime, same goes to an artist's improvement... Of course! No art is perfect as there will be bad anatomy and error, like hell they're not sharpshooters who'll spot this mistakes until later.

This is why this "people" needs to chill out.
Unfortunately in the case of this drawing, it seems more like a rushed piece of work for commercial advertising. Improvements to art does happen and sometimes the transition from old to new styles can be jarring at first but ease into the new mould (for example Koto inari's work, their work went from happy and jovial to this sombre and dark theme, despite the change, the expression format of their art was well received because it didn't rush, but took some time to ease into the role, with very little toll on their ability to draw a great picture that matched the art type).
