We did it! The House! The Senate! The Presidency! We did it!
Congratulations. While I'm a democrat I can take this loss gracefully.
I just hope the Republicans realize what they're getting into. They have to now try and unite a splintered nation that they in no small part helped to separate, especially in their own ranks.
America will survive the next four years as long as we don't lose the one thing that makes us strong, that unity. If I have to accept that Trump is the president than he has to make that effort to quit with all that "Wall" talk and "Muslim Ban" malarkey he was spouting.
Being the president isn't just a notch in his belt. It's a responsibility he better take seriously.

I applaud you. You have far more hope than I can muster right now.
Welp, the world economy and the environment is going to the toilet now. Say hello to another four years of American jingoism (granted, Hillary is a hawk herself, but still). This after Brexit too. And Duterte, for that matter.
World governments are all sliding towards extremism (either far-right or far-left) now. Merkel will probably get kicked out by some neo-nazi from AfD next year. I'm calling it.
Locals here are also veering towards racial supremacist parties and demagogues. It's gonna be hell for racial minorities (or other minorities, really), who are functionally already second-class citizens (minimal job prospects in the public sector, minimal study opportunities in public universities, disproportionate prosecution by the legal system, etc., really, African Americans have it easy, because at least affirmative action is helping the minority instead of the majority there). We also face the same rural vs. urban divide here.
What I'm afraid of, is that in his quest to make America great again, he will take it to unprecedented lows.
It can't get any lower or fragmented than what Obama has done to it. I don't care for trump but he's better than some hag who's been betraying the American people for the last 30 years. The socialist movement and this PC society needs to die and stay dead.
between brexit, duterte, and Trump democracy sure has been taking a lot of L's lately
maybe we should look back into divine right a bit
The purpose of democracy isn't so much to get the right answer all the time as it is to make the government answerable to the populace.
"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." - John F. Kennedy
In free democracies, the outrage of a people that feels left behind is expressed by civilly voting for stupid, self-destructive things. In monarchies and other dictatorships, the only means of expressing one's satisfaction is trying to start a civil war where you never know when the chaos will lead to a band of savages declaring themselves a "caliphate" and murdering anyone who doesn't adhere to the rules of their cult.

We'll have to endure. To be brutally honest half the things Trump proposed will never happen. Even the most loyal have to realize that. And you're right, sometimes you have to screw-up big time to realize your faults. America will survive Trump as long as we don't spiral into chaos (which I really doubt will actually happen, though things will be trying) and we'll get another chance to set a new course in four years. (And in two we can try and make things up by voting in higher numbers for the house and senate)

I'm actually glad Trump got elected and I hope he go as far as he can. I think it's high time America get it's own shameful history that every other country has and America mocks them for. Well, I should say ANOTHER shameful moment in history. For America, making the same mistakes over and over again seem to be the norm and I guess we do need something new to move us forward again until the NEXT shameful moment.

...all hail Trump. Please, pretty please, don't impeach him or anything.

As long as he doesn't nuke anybody, we'll live.
Trust me, if any of you are mad about Trump, you really, really, really don't want Pence to take his place...
VP-picking 101... pick the most unappealing character to the other side (or your own side for that matter) to fill that position, so that they'll never impeach you.
Though this has failed remarkably several times in the past, due to presidential assassinations/resignations...
