Air, land, and sea.

It's just the proportions since the tank looks fine, but the whole image kinda feels... squished a bit.

Is there a seiyu connection? Or just the artist likes the characters?

They are linked. Armor/tank for land. Striker units for sky. Ship equipment for sea. They pretty much covered all part of warfare with these 3. Well, annoying sneaky infantries are the most powerful though.

It looks like a widescreen image that was compressed to fit into a standard resolution TV.

Maybe the artist had to stretch the characters to fill the height of the page?

They're linked because they're all main characters for each branch of military.
