In all fairness, if any series could counter the grimdark (often bordering on grimderp) of PMMM, it'd be MLP:FiM. It helps that they're already familiar with magic based on emotions, so Kyubey's could literally just ask them for assistance.

The bad point is that suffering is the emotion that generated way more energy for them .so thats why they focused in geting them on purpouse in horrible situations .
