It's "rei" as in "rei no pool" or "rei no himo" (that usual pool / ribbon). In this case, it's reffering to that usual sweater with hole that's popular as of late.
Strange, someone changes a correct translation to a slightly different one, making no difference at all.
Yeah, I have seen that happen on a number of my translations as well. Sometimes words will be changed with a synonym, making really no change to the text. Sometimes the changes can be to better match a characters speech patterns, but sometimes it's a bit needless and just a matter of preference.
One that annoys me most is when a nice translation is swapped out for something extremely literal and almost nonsensical in English D:
