This looks like such a good anime but I want to wait until it is finished. The gender swap is a little unnerving for me though. Like Kyonko. Not really sure what to think of it. I guess, "it's cute so it's fine".

The anime does seem pretty good, though I enjoyed the light novel, so I came into the series rather disappointed. My friends on the other hand really enjoy the show, so mileage may vary.
The gender swap if I remember right just happens in the anime, while the LN at least gives a (silly) reason for it. The difference between the anime and the LN seems to be an interesting trade off, and kind of balances out to a degree. The LN is filled with a lot of details and really goes indepth of other events and perspectives, so grounds you pretty well on what is happening in the world. This of course comes at the expense of losing a lot of focus on Tanya. The anime really tightens the focus on Tanya, but it chops out the world building quite a bit. It does manage to cover the bulk of important stuff, but can end up with a you blink and you'll miss the single detail that tells you why something is happening.
If the concept interests you, then definitely worth a look imo. If the anime doesn't interest you in the end, then still consider checking out the LN, as both the anime and LN are kind of difference creations given the changes.
The first volume of the LN is fan translated (what I read), but it only covers the first 4.5 episodes of the anime.
Sounds good. I generally watch the anime to get the gist, and then read the manga/ln while I am waiting for the next season or if I am coming back to a series. Manga/ln are always better story wise than the anime, so I try to avoid reading it first so I can enjoy the anime in it's fullest.
I'm gonna remove the "phallic symbol" and "Sexually Suggestive" tags, as I see absolutely nothing even remotely sexual about this image. Tanya is literally just eating a sausage. Neither of the characters are treating the sausage like phallus, nor is there any sort of sexually suggestive expression, body language or posing going on.
