I don't want to be that person, but is it too much to ask that a post get more than two tags within twenty minutes of uploading?

Considering that this is a batch consists of 53 pictures, the only general tags that I can think of back then are these two, for speed is essential to avoid other upload snipers.

Well, @Sacriven uploaded a ton of these post in a batch and twenty minutes aren't that much time. So I guess it is a bit too much to ask in this case :3.

I realized after the fact that there were multiple uploads going on. Still, it shouldn't be too much trouble for a Builder to at least fill out the required minimum tags like hair and eye color, sexual content, the character's name. We expect everyone else to do the same.

Knowing @Sacriven , I'm pretty he would have done this himself after some minutes^^. It still shouldn't become a habit, though. But 20 minutes is still a very little amount of time :P. So I wouldn't be too strict here.

Oh, you don't know how crazy other uploaders can be on Pixiv rush hour. If it's an individual image, I'd make sure to include names and context. But this case is special. I'd rather do quick uploads to ensure my upload got through rather than adding few elaborate tags, only to find that my upload is already uploaded by others, further wasting my time. Every seconds is important in the rush hour.

Wow, my reasoning keeps getting downvoted. Spread your salt somewhere else, fool.

To be honest, if you are getting one upload of the batch, then you also get the other uploads. Exceptions are if you have an artist like ama_mitsuki with his Panty Peek series :3. And simply adding the character's name + copyright doesn't take time away with the autocomplete box. Touhou is one letter to type ("t") and kawashiro only two.

Fair enough, but here's my case: To ensure that I won't get sniped, I open 3 tabs of upload at a time (opening all of 53 is downright crazy lol). My internet speed...is average, you can say that. One tab needs approximately 20 seconds to be fully loaded with preview image. The problem is, I don't have 20 seconds to wait, so I decided to quickly fill the tag box before the image preview shows up. Surprise-surprise, in the amidst of writing tags the preview image shows up and "kicking" the tag box down, making my focus all jumbled up. At this point, I know that if this happens everytime on next 50 images, my uploads will be messed up. That's why I decided to only include "ootsuki_wataru touhou rating:q" as the benchmark tag for a while.

If this doesn't enough to convince you, back then I'm competing with @Randeel in this batch, in which everyone already knows how fast he is, compared with my snail-speed internet.

You don't need to convince me, but I think I know the reason why your reasoning is downvoted. In my eyes, if you are only uploading and thinking that you are in a competition, then it might kinda fail the purpose why we do this stuff: For fun. And I think if you are getting frustrated because one user is sniping you, then it might be to stiffened. Competetion is off course great, but it should not go so far to get frustrated. So even if you don't get one upload, then call it a day and focus on something else. It also doesn't really hurt your time, since tagging the image consumes much more time than a failed upload (because you don't have to do the tagging in this case :P).
Which is probably also the reason why other users don't tag their uploads so thoroughly and the threshold of acceptable tagging is so low (see howto:tag_checklist.

In the end, my statement is to take things probably a bit more relaxed and not to take too much pride into things here on Danbooru. Because getting frustrated helped no one in the end and being too serious even less :3.

For fun? Relaxed? Yeah right, I might believe these if only dozen other users aren't so dedicated to the point that they upload something in less than 10 seconds after the original got uploaded in Pixiv and others. At first it seems okay, but after a while it started to get annoying.

See? Well, the main question that you need to answer is what do you think you want to contribute in the end and why? I can't help you to answer this question. Sometimes it is also best to just ignore the odds and just do what you think is right. If it really starts to get annoying, then just pull your thing still through. You might still receive criticism, but imo you did nothing wrong here with tagging.

Which is also why I defended your stance of tagging in this instance and not listen to what other are telling you. I also think that this short conversation might have also reached it's concensus about the tagging, because the stance is that one should tag their uploads afterwards and I think that one can trust a Builder to do so. There is a threat that an images is missing in the end, but that are probably only peanuts :3. Don't let other's ruin the fun for you.

Danbooru debates are a colossal waste of time. Just saying.

I don't doubt that timeliness is essential in the rush to upload. I just think that there should be a limit on how long it should take to ensure that tagging gets done. Clearly, we have differing opinions on what constitutes a reasonable amount of time.

By the way, I upvoted your replies. Downvoting someone's comments just because you disagree with them is kind of petty, IMO.
