I was never much of a fan of the official design for the Fusion Suit. To me it looked like Samus tried to fit a vinyl catsuit over her power armor. That said, I did like the idea, so instead of some sort of weird membrane that grew over her suit, I thought maybe a hard carapace forming around her suit would look more fitting. My goal was to improve on the original design while retaining the elements that I felt still made it recognizable and iconic.
