Don't try using them for torpedo Cut-in. I tried KTKM so many times in the last event, and at 40 luck, she still uses normal torpedo attack at night, which cant even damage the boss.
Equip her with 2 red gun + Midget and leave the TCI job to DDs. Her fire power at night is really something incredible than TCI.
The reason for this is: DDs are totally useless in day battle, even with 2 red guns. However, they are still able to deal a decent damage if you equip them with 2 torpedoes (given no moderate damage). Meanwhile, CLT with 2 red guns and midget can perform pre-torpedo strike to the escort, which can be a sure kill at DD/CL while still deal a good damage to finish off those damaged ships at night.

Hey, KTKM-Sama is at her second Remodel, Poi is almost there, and Ooi is closing the gap rapidly since I went with brute force to unlock 3-2. Heavy Cruiser Hime's days are numbered. If the first few tries don't sink her, I'll just farm some cruisers and BBs on 2-2 for modernization fodder.

Mate personally I would suggest Kiso rather than KTKM and Ooi for this event, since she's one of the 5th fleet and has bonuses. Then again, KanColle is a game about love.

Hell, back in my first event on this account (I played once before, lost that account, made a new one), I could already have gone through med for E1 and the next 3 on easy. Still lost that last map, but I knew what I needed to prepare after my first time taking on an event and only able to clear E1 back in AL-MI.
Yes, the longer you have played, the better prepared you become, just like wine. But you know there are also ways to age wine how you like. Know the way, you can do just fine.
That being said, I prepared for more than 2 years. Of course I should be able to get through some maps with a little ease.
Have to say though, Al-MI was a total failure to me. I didn't know what E maps were like. Thought they were something-5 maps. Didn't have the resources, didn't have the levels, didn't have the ships. Clearing E-1 was a miracle. All the reason to say preparation makes perfects.
