Both she and USS Macon did scouting at night and were appearently very good at it for the early 1930s. But they are barely armed. Less than a dozen machine guns and less than a half dozen small fighter planes.

But they can put Shimakaze to shame on speed. Akron could do 69 knots while Macon could do 75 knots. Of course they were also around the size of a battleship.

In my habit of pre-emptive shipping, I always ship her and her sister with the i-400s.
